 Emily Moré Hollis has served as a principal of ALM First Financial Advisors, LLC, since the company was established in 1995. Under her leadership, the company has steadily grown to a client base of more than 130 financial institutions representing more than $114 billion in assets. In addition to guiding the strategic direction of the company, Ms. Hollis manages the operations department, as well as the analytics and development department.
A well-known figure in the investment community and a renowned expert in asset/liability management, Ms. Hollis is a popular speaker at industry functions. Speaking engagements have included sessions for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Financial Managers Society, CUNA & Affiliates, the National Association of Federal Credit Unions and the National Center for Credit Unions, as well as for a number of corporate credit unions. Prior to ALM First, Ms. Hollis was vice president for Kidder Peabody Asset Management; chief investment officer for Southwest Corporate FCU; and an investment trader for a New York Stock Exchange Company, responsible for executing trades for the firm’s fixed-income and foreign receivable portfolios. Her experience includes managing a $6 billion fixed-income investment portfolio, and investing in derivatives. Ms. Hollis’ extensive background includes executing and managing risk-management programs, and implementation of one of the first-ever uses of futures hedging and synthetic structures in the credit union industry. She also served as the portfolio manager for one of the first mutual funds offered exclusively for credit unions. Ms. Hollis holds both a master’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. She holds a BFA from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Angela C. Calvert

 As a principal of ALM First Financial Advisors, LLC, Angela C. Calvert has been instrumental in building the organization into the widely respected firm that it is today. Since joining ALM First, Ms. Calvert has helped the company grow to a client base of more than 130 financial institutions representing more than $114 billion in assets. While providing direction on the firm’s corporate strategy, she also manages the sales and marketing departments, as well as the funds management department, which currently oversees more than $11 billion in investable funds.
Before joining ALM First, Ms. Calvert worked at Southwest Corporate FCU as an investment advisor and portfolio manager, responsible for more than 20 natural-person credit unions with an excess of $1 billion in investable funds. Prior to that, she was a securities broker with First Tennessee Capital Markets. Over her many years of working in the investment and capital markets, she has gained a wide range of investment experience and expertise at the institutional level. Ms. Calvert has conducted numerous training engagements at financial industry conferences and individual client board meetings. Her topics of expertise include total balance-sheet management, investment types and characteristics, macroeconomics, and investment-portfolio risk analysis. Ms. Calvert holds a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Mississippi, at Oxford.

Thomas W. Manley, CFA

 Since ALM First Financial Advisors, LLC was established in 1995, Thomas W. Manley has served as a principal of the company. Under his leadership, the company has steadily grown to a client base of more than 130 financial institutions representing more than $114 billion in assets. An industry veteran with more than 20 years of investment experience, Mr. Manley manages the financial advisory teams and provides direction on the firm’s corporate strategy. During his tenure at ALM First, he has conducted numerous training sessions throughout the credit union industry.
Mr. Manley’s prior experience includes serving as assistant vice president for the Credit Union Advisory Group of Kidder Peabody Asset Management, and as portfolio manager for Southwest Corporate FCU, where he was responsible for investments for the corporate’s term portfolio of more than $2 billion. Mr. Manley’s extensive background includes executing and managing risk-management programs, and implementation of one of the first-ever uses of futures hedging and synthetic structures in the credit union industry. He also served as the investment advisor for more than 25 natural-person and corporate credit unions, as well as the portfolio manager for one of the first mutual funds offered exclusively for credit unions. Mr. Manley received his master’s degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, and he received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University in College Station. He holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
