Treasuries are little changed following a relatively quiet news cycle over the weekend, and U.S. equity futures are slightly lower amid general dollar weakness. The CDC reported yesterday that half of all American adults (130 million) have received at least one Covid-19 vaccine dose. A decision on the J&J vaccine is expected to come this week, and Dr. Anthony Fauci said yesterday that he would be “very surprised” if distribution weren’t resumed in some form by Friday. This week’s economic calendar will be quiet, headlined by weekly jobless claims (Thursday) and April PMI data (Friday). The Fed has entered the pre-FOMC blackout period, so there will be no speakers this week ahead of next Wednesday’s meeting.
