Treasuries had a quiet session overnight and rates open this morning little changed from yesterday’s close, with the 10 year sitting around 2.30%. Personal income was flat in June, coming in lower than the median forecast of 0.4%. Personal spending for the month of June came in line with expectations at 0.1%. Much of the decline in personal income can be traced back to a decline in dividend payments. However, wage growth picked up by 0.4%. Low levels of spending and personal income indicates that the US economy could see less help from American consumers and that third quarter growth could be off to a slow start as a result.
