Access Home Equity Loans at Scale – Investor Call #2
For years, credit unions looking to buy loans have faced limited access to quality originators, inconsistent pricing, and high operational barriers, while those needing to sell have often struggled to find dependable buyers, especially in volatile rate environments. The ALM First Loan Fund was built to fix that.
Now, formation of the second Loan Fund is underway, focused on home equity loans — reaching similar borrower profiles as unsecured credit, but with recorded home equity behind every loan. With homeowner equity near record highs, it’s an asset class offering attractive risk-adjusted yields and strong diversification benefits. Participation is limited.
Join ALM First’s Travis Goodman, CFA and Mark Sun to learn:
- Why home equity, why now — the equity cushion and market timing
- How the ALM First Loan Fund works for both buyers and sellers
- What the fund will buy — collateral, credit, and eligibility criteria
- How your credit union could participate under the NCUA pilot program
The ALM First Loan Fund Investment Pilot Program, which the firm received NCUA approval for prior to its April 2026 launch, is limited to 30 complex federal credit unions and invests in consumer loans with maturities under 10 years along with overnight investments. Participating institutions are limited to a 50% net worth investment cap.
