Treasury yields are essentially flat to start the day and equity futures are slightly lower before the open.

The U.S. continues to wait for a response from Iran before peace talks can restarts. As a result of continued volatility in the region, and worsening tensions in the Straight of Hormuz, gas prices are on the rise again. Initial jobless claims increased by 6,000 to 214,000 in the week ending April 18th – although, levels remain around some of the lowest levels observed in the last year.
