Treasuries are little changed ahead of the January JOLTS report and Fed Chair Powell’s semiannual testimony before Congress.

Regarding the former, job openings are expected to have fallen from 9.026 million to 8.85 million in January. Powell’s prepared remarks for this morning’s appearance have already been released, and they reiterate that the central bank is in no rush to cut rates until they have more confidence that inflation is under control. The MBA mortgage applications index rose 9.7% last week, the first increase in a month. Purchase applications were up 10.6% w/w, while refinance applications rose 8.1%. The increased application activity came despite only a 2-4 basis point decline in average conventional contract rates for fixed-rate mortgages, according to the MBA survey.
