Treasury yields opened the day slightly lower and haven’t shifted much after the release of two data reports.

The October Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 0.2% m/m, which is in line with expectations, but the core reading was slightly firmer than expected at 0.3% m/m. Initial jobless claims fell to 217,000 last week, slightly below expectations. In other news, Cantor Fitzgerald CEO Howard Lutnick has reportedly been making a late pitch to Trump to be Treasury Secretary in recent days. This comes after hedge fund manager Scott Bessent’s name was floated recently as the leading candidate. Lutnick was perhaps the most noteworthy Wall Street supporter of Trump during the campaign and was tapped to co-chair the transition team.
