Treasury yields are following oil prices higher again this morning.
Brent crude futures are up more than 5% on the day and approaching $100 for the first time since May 19. Benchmark bond yields are up 4-6 basis points, and S&P 500 futures are down nearly 1% an hour before the open. President Trump said this morning that he’ll “hold Iran responsible” for any future attacks by the Houthis after the rebel proxy of Tehran attacked Saudi commercial ships in the Red Sea yesterday. On the data front, initial jobless claims unexpectedly fell sharply last week to 187,000, the lowest level since 1969.
